BAG SNATCHERS

The Halloween Comedy Heist Movie That Never Was

It’s that time of year again. It’s the time they call spooky season. As temperatures cool and everything turns orange; leaves, candy boxes and even pumpkins, I’m reminded once again of my Bag Snatchers screenplay that just won’t die like zombies farting in the wind. Much like fishermen, writers all have the story about the big one that got away. In my case it’s this cool little Halloween script I wrote many full moons ago. For whatever reason, and yes sometimes it’s not just bad writing, the movie never got made. All the options expired and the rights reverted back to me. And since it actually is a holiday movie, unlike the likes of DIE HARD, this Halloween project becomes relevant at least once a year…every year. If I were in the business of making movies, I’d jump at the chance to make a movie you only have to pay to make one time, but then have it continue to be relevant every year returning dividends until that day when Halloween is no longer a ‘thing’. But then I’m only a product of public schooling so what do I know?
